Credentialling

Nurses who have completed a cervical screening course are eligible and encouraged to apply for credentialling. Credentialling is a process that recognises the individual expertise of a nurse, as well as demonstrating to consumers and colleagues that a nurse is participating in a quality process to ensure standards of practice are met and maintained.

Credentialling was introduced to provide a mechanism to ensure the quality of nurse-provided cervical screening services. It also provides nurses with a mechanism to demonstrate accountability and responsibility for their practice.

How to apply

If you are credentialling for the first time, please complete the Credential Application Form and submit it along with evidence of course completion and evidence of current Australian Health Practitioners Regulation Agency (AHPRA) registration.

Application from interstate or overseas

If you are applying from interstate or overseas, you will need to make contact with Sandy Anderson, Credentialling Coordinator on 0407 190 207 or sandya@ncable.net.au prior to submitting your application. It is suggested that you submit evidence of any cervical screening practice you have undertaken outside of Victoria.

Time since training undertaken

If it has been more than 12 months since you completed your nurse cervical screening course, you will need to make contact with Sandy Anderson, Credentailing Coordinator on 0407 190 207 or sandya@ncable.net.au before submitting your application.

New employer

If you have changed employers or are working for an additional employer, please complete the following form.
