Kate Broun
Kate has significant experience in cervical screening and women's health, and frequently leads Victorian activity on these issues. Kate is the Program Manager at PapScreen Victoria and has worked with the program since 2002. Her areas of interest include Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander women's health, and - with the advent of the HPV vaccine - vaccination to prevent cervical cancer.
Kylie Johnson
Kylie is the Aboriginal Education Program Coordinator at PapScreen Victoria, and is available for comment on cervical screening rates, and cervical cancer incidence and mortality in the Indigenous community.
I've always been very aware of the importance of regular Pap tests, as my Mum had early-stage cervical cancer in her 30s.
She encouraged me to start having regular Pap tests when I turned 18 and I followed her advice, albeit begrudgingly!
